Yahoo! boosts UK brand with Premier League rights
Internet giant Yahoo! has bought UK internet highlights rights for English Premier League matches in a bid to boost its status in online sports coverage.

Yahoo! is hoping to emulate its success in the US, where its website is a leading internet sports portal, helped by online highlights rights deals with sports properties including the NBA, PGA, NHL and MLB.

Yahoo.co.uk will show five-minute highlights clips of every Premier League match. The highlights will be available from midnight on Sunday after weekend matches and from midnight the same day for midweek games.

Yahoo takes over the rights from Virgin Media, which had them for the 2007-08 to 2009-10 cycle.
