LV= set to take over Guinness rugby sponsorship
UK insurance company LV= is favourite to take over the title sponsorship of English rugby union’s top-tier Premiership if, as is expected, Guinness ends its five-year agreement at the end of this season.
According to UK newspaper The Times, LV= is “90 per cent” certain of formalising a three-year deal that would expand its rugby union sponsorship portfolio, which includes the Anglo-Welsh Cup competition and Premiership club Harlequins. LV= has also been the title sponsor of cricket’s County Championship since 2002, extending its deal until 2012 last year. Guinness replaced insurance company Zurich as title sponsor of the Premiership in 2006. |
